Music has always been a core part of Princess Anna’s life; from starring in musical theatre shows throughout high school and university, to performing and releasing music as a solo singer-songwriter, singing and performing on stage has always been her absolute dream.

When she started working as a children’s entertainer in 2017, she was able to combine her passion for singing with her love of fairy tales and Princess films to create her absolute dream job! Then in 2022, Princess Anna became Snow Princess Parties’ Director of Hampshire, and began to build her own little kingdom alongside her fellow princesses! 

Anna has created magical memories for hundreds of children on their special days over the years. Come on Barbie, let’s go Party!  

Barbie is back by popular demand!  

We’re so glad kids are wanting the infamous doll to come and entertain at their party. Isn’t it every child’s dream to meet their real-life toys? All ages will enjoy the fun a life-size Barbie will bring. 

If you’re not sure how to through a fantastic Barbie Party, we can certainly help with some Barbie party ideas:

The Set-Up: 

As entertainers, we’ve played Barbie princess, sporty Barbie and ballerina Barbie. That’s what we love about her; a female-led icon for any young girl to look up to. Barbie has such variety; that means you can get really creative when it comes to the set-up. So long as you go full out with sparkles and flair! 

WHERE TO START? Well, in every version of Barbie…her signature colour is PINK!  

So go crazy with it; pink balloon arches, pink tablecloths, pink birthday cake…And if there’s enough pink, then sparkles and glitter must come next! You can also find Barbie party accessories such as plates and cups online, or at your local party supplier, (a great way to shop locally,) if sparkles aren’t your thing, plain hot Barbie pink is the colour to go for! 

Photo walls are a great way to ensure you have memories of those party picture-perfect moments, forever. The Barbie Photobox photo booth can make you look and feel like a lifesize doll. The cake: 

Somehow, the cake always seems to become the most stressful part of the party. You have to worry about there not being enough to go around, if it fits the theme and of course – if it’s yummy! 

There are many things you can do to get this right, and these are just a few options when deciding on a cake:

– You can use a trusted cake company in your area, make sure you look at reviews before paying, or use a recommended business. If you’re not sure, reach out on social media for help suggesting great local companies. 

-You could ask your friends and family to help. Do you know a friend who bakes for fun? What about granny? Never feel afraid to reach out for help.  

-Head down to your local store and buy the cake. Sometimes, with parents going to so many parties in a year, there’s pressure to have the most ‘gorgeous’ looking cake. But, to take the stress off, there is always the option to buy a cake from the supermarket. They’re cheaper, they have lots of different themes, and taste just as yummy! 

Barbie Cupcakes could be a better option than one large cake. They make a great display set out on tiered cake stands. cupcakes mean you’ll be able to get just the right amount for every guest, and no sibling will be fighting over the sizes of the slices, and there will be no cutting the cake fiasco when you just don’t have the time.

The Barbie: 

It wouldn’t be a Barbie Party without the Doll herself making an appearance. Without entertainment, parents can find themselves lost in all the rush, and before you know it, the party is over and it feels like you didn’t get one moment to enjoy any of your hard work.

It’s been nearly six months since our incredible, free Princess Parade event in Maidstone. At least 450 families and friends attended to meet and greet with eight of our gorgeous princesses. Photos were snapped, there was dancing and singing all the way through; live music floated through the air. Magic and sparkle was everywhere, as the princesses paraded down the Maidstone High Street.  

We were greeted by so many little princesses

Snow Princess Parties were overwhelmed by the love and support we received from everyone from the Maidstone community and beyond. We loved seeing so many kids dressed in their finest fairy-tale outfits. The way their faces lit up as they saw us walk up the High Street, will be something our princesses will remember for years to come. We stopped to answer the questions the children always wanted to ask, and played some of our favourite music. Our fabulous singing princesses performed live as we walked to Brenchley Gardens for some more dancing and singing! 

Creating beautiful memories they’ll never forget

The fact that we got to give the children a memory of meeting ‘Elsa’, ‘Sleeping Beauty’ or ‘Ariel’ in our hometown of Maidstone is something we’ll always treasure and can’t thank you enough for joining in on the fun! Two years ago, on the 25th August 2021, I organised the very first Princess Parade in South London. We took to Balham High Street with 6 of your favourite characters to spread joy and give everyone the chance to meet their favourite fairy-tale princess. 

We greeted friends from near and far

As we arrived outside Milk Cafe on Balham Hill, we were met by local nurseries, schools, friends and families; some had travelled over an hour to see us. I couldn’t believe the amount of people! We then walked along the High Street meeting lots of friends along the way, before making our way to Tooting Bec common for our final performance of the day.  

Bad weather can’t stop our princess parade…

This is a yearly event, rain or shine. Last year on the morning of our parade, we woke to thunder and flooding. But that was not going to stop us! We headed to Balham but the rain was still pouring. Thankfully, Balham Library offered to host our first performance. Over 200 people packed out the hall. It was so touching that no matter what, you brought your little ones out to see us. Then, as the rain stopped, we took to Tooting Bec common to be met by even more little fans! A member of the public was playing tennis and even played ‘let it go’ on his boom-box so we could perform. It really was a whole community effort.

The Princesses are back!

On Thursday 4th August 2022, as the clock struck 12 pm, we at Snow Princess Parties took to the streets of Burnham with eight of your favourite characters, to bring magic to children, (and adults,) in a live-action Superhero and Princess Show during the Summer Holidays! 

Over the course of the two-hour Parade, we were joined by well over 500 families who had come to meet and greet with the characters. There was lots of singing and dancing to well-known princess songs and lots of snaps with us all as we went.

Our Burnham Princess Parade was such a huge success, we’re doing it again!

We met hundreds of little princesses

At our first meeting point, our fairytale characters were greeted with open arms, by little ones all dressed in their best princess and superhero finery for the event. It was so special to see all the children’s reactions to the princess parade, as they smiled and posed with the princesses and superheroes alike. It was then time to make our way to our next destination; we paraded up Whittaker Road to Burnham Park Hall with everyone in tow; a moment I will truly never forget!

Arriving at Burnham Park Hall was magical, I couldn’t possibly forget walking around the corner and seeing just how many people had come out to support the event! Here we met hundreds more little princesses and superheroes who then joined in with the singing princesses at Burnham Park Hall. Everyone really got involved!

The day was so special for many, one parent who attended on the day  got in touch and said: 

“We attended the princess parade and it did not disappoint. All the princesses were kind and patient, and took the time to make each child feel special. You can tell that they are all passionate about creating the best experience possible for the children. We were there from beginning to end and the entire event was exceptionally organised. The singing and dancing led by the princesses created a  magical atmosphere that we will cherish forever.” 

The day of the parade really was the most exciting, divine, special day from start to finish. Every day it feels so surreal that my full-time job is focused on spreading magic and helping make dreams come true for children all over the country! As a team, we can really make magic happen by enabling children to meet their “real” Elsa, Spiderman, Cinderella and so many more – right on their doorsteps!

Princess Safiya’s parents always knew that her vivacious and gentle demeanour would lead to her working with children in some capacity. Well, look at her now mum and dad! Safiya gets to live her best princess life as the Director of Snow Princess Parties, Surrey.

The fairy tale all began whilst Safiya was studying musical theatre at drama school. She stumbled upon a job advertisement that contained all the ingredients that she loves: dancing, singing, acting, dressing up and entertaining children. Flash forward one year, and Safiya is in her dream job, looking forward to work every single day. Whether she is dressed up as a unicorn, mermaid, fairy, or Moana… being a princess never gets old! 

Fan favourites like the lovable Mirabel and flower princess Isabella made their Snow Princess Party debuts, with Safiya up front and centre. With her curly hair, big smile, and booming singing voice, you will always find Safiya singing and dancing to the Encanto soundtrack at a party!

Not long after the COVID-19 lockdown, some fairy-tale magic came to Maidstone, as Snow Princess Parties expanded to Kent!

Princess Kelsey, business manager of the Kent region, has a love of all things storytelling, largely influenced by her adoration of princess movies growing up. It is no surprise, then, that she jumped at the opportunity of becoming a real-life princess, joining the country’s highest-rated princess party company. Now, every day is a fairy tale for Kelsey! Your little ones birthday is coming up and not only do they want their favourite princess to be there, they also want a cake that looks just like them! Over the years we have been to so many birthday parties and seen (and eaten) lots of birthday cakes; but one particular style of cake we always love to see (and our Princess Heather even had for her 21st birthday) is a Princess Doll Cake – so simple and elegant, but yet so effective and easy to make yourself!

Read on if you’d like to give it a try…

1. What You Need

• 2 Boxes of Cake Mixture (any flavour)
• Ready to Roll Icing (in the colour of the princess dress you would like)
• A Doll Pick (found on Amazon)
• 2 Round Cake Tins
• 1 Large Domed Mug or Heatproof Bowl

2. Making The Dress Base

Firstly you want to make two sponge cakes to form the base of the dress. Before starting this section, read the cake mixture boxes and gather the ingredients required (eggs or alternative, oil, water etc) to create the mixture. Preheat your oven to the desired temperature at this point.

1. Following the instructions on the box, prepare and mix your two cake boxes of cake mixture together (adding eggs or alternative, water and oil as per the cake mix box directions)
2. Once the cake mixture is mixed, grease/butter your pans and lightly dust with some flour to prevent your cakes from sticking.
3. Spread the batter evenly over both cake tins (if you have excess batter why not make some cupcakes for your guests?)
4. Pop your cake tins (and cupcakes) into the oven for the allocated period of time stated on your cake mix boxes!

3. Making The Top of the Cake

Whilst waiting for the two cakes to bake it is time to create the top of the ballgown. For this we made a microwave mug cake in a bowl to create the round top of the dress. This mug/bowl should be slightly smaller than your cake tins.

4. Putting The Cakes Together

1. When the cakes are baked, remove them from the oven and leave them to cool for 10-15 minutes before removing them from their tins/bowls and then place onto a wire cooling rack to allow the cakes to finish cooling.
2. Once cooled, place frosting/filling between each layer of cake and stack them, keeping the round mug cake on the top to round off the top of the dress.
3. At this point you can use a flat knife to round off the edges of the cake to form one big ballgown.

5. Decorating Your Cake

Now it’s time for the most exciting part, bringing your cake all together and creating the princess that your little one desires! Make sure the cakes are completely cooled to avoid the decorations ‘sweating’ off and gather everything you need to decorate.

1. Roll out your ‘Ready to Roll’ icing ensuring it is not too thin to prevent any tearing.
2. Carefully lift and place the sheet of icing over your domed cake shape to create the perfect ballgown – if you want to add some patterns flowers/butterflies/patterns then it is a great idea to get two different coloured icing rolls.
3. Poke your Doll Pick into the top of the cake. It is a great idea to use some remaining roll out icing to create the bodice of the dress on your princess.
4. Style your princesses hair and add any final decorations onto the dress that you desire and ta da…there is your perfect princess cake!

Present your cake onto a cake stand and, for an extra special touch, we placed cupcakes around the cake decorated in complimentary colours for everyone to enjoy.
